Membership Types/Prices

Regular Member ($145)

A scientist who holds a PhD, an equivalent degree (e.g., MD, DVM) or has equivalent experience. Regular members can sponsor abstracts, vote in Society elections, and hold office.

Postdoctoral Member ($66)

A scientist who holds a PhD, an equivalent degree or has equivalent experience, and is actively engaged in a training program. Postdoctoral members can sponsor abstracts and vote in Society elections.

Graduate Student Member ($42)

A candidate in good standing to receive a master's or doctoral degree. Student members may sponsor their own abstract.

Undergraduate Student Member ($22)

The applicant must be working toward completion of a bachelor’s degree or be a recent graduate within two years of degree conferral.

Emeritus Member

A Regular member who has retired from active research or training. An individual must have been a Society member for at least ten years to be considered for Emeritus status. Emeritus members can vote in Society elections.

Citizen Member

Individuals who share the stated purpose of the Society but do not have educational or research experience in cell biology or an allied field may be admitted to membership following nomination by two regular members and vote of Council. This designation is used rarely to honor exceptional individuals for their sustained and unusual dedication to the advancement of basic biomedical research.

Corporate Member

A company wishing to demonstrate support for the ASCB and the field of cell biology. Contact the ASCB office for more information on corporate membership. Learn more about Corporate Memberships
