1. Login with your ASCB account. If you do not have an account, you will need to create one before applying.
2. You must:
   1. Provide names, emails, institutions, and career levels for all co-organizers.
   2. Identify a Title and Description for the session.
   3. Identify up to 4 Learning Objectives.
   4. Identify the Target Audience.
   5. Estimate the length of time needed for the session.
   6. Estimate the anticipated attendance for the session.
   7. Identify any sponsors or grants supporting the session.
   8. Propose speakers to participate in the session*
      • Indicate those who identify as historically excluded persons (HEPs).
      • Indicate those who work a primarily undergraduate institution (PUI), minority-serving institution (MSI), Hispanic-serving institution (HSI), historically black colleges and universities (HBCU), or tribal college
   9. Read and agree to the following affirmations:
      • I understand this is a competitive process and not all applications will be approved.
      • I understand that the reviewers may ask me to merge my session with another proposal or slightly alter the topic.
      • I understand that all programming will be scheduled by ASCB and day/time change requests will not be considered.
      • I have read and agree to the terms under Session Organizer Responsibilities.
      • I confirm that all co-organizers understand the guidelines for selecting speakers. This includes ensuring diverse speakers in all sessions. Diversity of speakers includes: institution, career level, geographic location, gender, and race/ethnicity.
      • I will not formally invite my speakers until my application is accepted and I receive notification to do so.
      • If selected, I understand my session must be finalized by the August 1 final program deadline.
      • I understand all co-organizers and all speakers must pay for meeting registration and their own travel expenses.

1. Communicate with speakers about their role and the meeting policies. Ensure speakers are registered and understand they are responsible for registering for the meeting and paying the registration fee.
2. Register for Cell Bio 2022. All speakers and organizers must be paid registrants for Cell Bio Virtual 2021. Admission will not be granted if individuals are not registered.
3. Prepare and submit your final session description, outcomes, and confirmed speakers with affiliations by August 1, 2022. Late submissions are not guaranteed to make it into the online meeting program or mobile app.

Meeting Policies

• All session attendees, including session organizers and invited speakers, must be paid registrants of Cell Bio Virtual 2021. Access will not be granted to individuals without a registration.
• Session organizer/speaker expenses are not provided by ASCB or EMBO.
  • Session organizers may seek grant funding for support.

Availability Requirements

Session organizers and co-organizers must be available on the day of the scheduled session.

Miscellaneous

You and your accepted speakers must agree to the following terms and conditions:

• Not to defame or slander/libel anyone
• Not to use copyright/trademark materials without permission
• Not to speak on anything other than what was agreed to

ASCB & EMBO Responsibilities

ASCB & EMBO will provide the following facilities and services and incur the expenses associated with hosting a session:

1. A meeting room in the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, set theater-style with signage outside the room.
2. The following audiovisual equipment: screen, MAC* computer with mouse and keyboard; lighted lectern; LCD projector; confidence monitor; laser pointer; timer; microphones  for the lectern, table, and aisle; and a video switcher. A projectionist will be assigned to your session. *If a PC is needed in the room, contact aharris@ascb.org.
3. Inclusion of the session on the Cell Bio 2022 website and in the mobile app.

Applications will be reviewed based on the following criteria:

• Clear outcomes that align with ASCB and EMBO's mission and focus.
• A proven need and limited ability to find similar sessions elsewhere (necessity, uniqueness, timeliness, and relevancy).
• Diversity of speakers and intended audience to include career level, institution, research (if applicable), gender, geographic location, and ethnic diversity.
• Intended level of audience engagement.
• Availability of existing external grant funding.
