ASCB and EMBO are committed to ensuring equitable access for all scientists in the cell biology community to participate and benefit from attending Cell Bio. With the generosity of our supporters, ASCB is able to provide financial assistance through grants to our members to make this possible. Check out the current grants and eligibility below:

The application deadline for the following grants is Friday, October 14:

Grants for U.S. Underrepresented Minorities

Eligibility: Junior faculty, postdocs, graduate students, and undergraduate students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

Application requirements: Abstract submission/number, CV, letter of recommendation from advisor (letters for undergrad, grad and postdocs only)

Number of grants available: Unlimited; funding available from an NIH IPERT grant

Grant amount: Up to $1,800 depending on existing funding applicant has to attend the meeting

Review based on: Applicants will be judged based on science, stage of career, and financial need. Grants are sponsored by NIH and reviewed by the Minority Affairs Committee (MAC).

Familycare Grants

Eligibility: ASCB member

Application requirements: Abstract submission, presenting talk/poster at Cell Bio, and CV

Number of grants available: Unlimited; funding available from Springer Nature

Grant amount: Variable based on need

Review based on: Applicants will be judged based on need and the merit of the request. Grants are sponsored and reviewed by the Women In Cell Biology Committee (WICB).
