Get involved with Cell Bio 2024, whether you attend in person or not!
ASCB offers early-career, mid-career, and postdoctoral members the chance to join the Poster Abstract Programming Task Force. Review and program abstracts into poster sessions for the annual meeting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Initial Review:
- Dates: Friday, September 6 to Friday, September 13
- Tasks: Review abstracts via PDF and a Google spreadsheet link sent by email to ensure they meet the minimum requirements for acceptance, and reassign abstracts to different topics, if needed.
- Late Abstract Review and Poster Session Creation:
- Dates: Thursday, October 17 to Friday, October 25
- Tasks: Review late abstracts for topical fit and minimum requirements like the initial review. Use an online system to then create sessions for all accepted abstracts (from all deadlines) following ASCB guidelines. The review and scheduling will take place from Thursday, October 17 to Thursday, October 24. Task force members also need to be available on Friday, October 25 for any questions related to the review and to ensure all abstracts assigned to your topic have been placed in a session.
How to Participate
Fill out the form below to participate by Monday, August 19. Select a first and second preference topic, with the option to select a third, and fourth preference as backup. Please click here and visit the “Abstract Topics” tab to view available topics, with their respective subtopics. You and your co-reviewers(s) will be responsible for all of the subtopics under that umbrella topic. These are new topics for 2024! We anticipate there being between 20 to 200 abstracts to review per umbrella topic. The number of reviewers per topic is determined by the number of abstracts submitted, so each reviewer will have approximately 25-50 abstracts to review and program.
Please only pick topics you are comfortable with so you will be able to assign abstracts to proper categories and in an appropriate order.
Selection for this task force is first-come, first-served.
If you are selected as the reviewer for a topic, details will be sent prior to each review with instructions and more information.
We will contact you by August 29 to let you know if you have been scheduled to serve on this task force.
